Who runs this site

This site is operated by Ziyad. You can contact me at hello@ziyad.co.uk.

What this site collects

This is a static personal website. It does not have user accounts, contact forms, comments, analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party JavaScript.

The site may still involve a small amount of data:

• Server and CDN logs may include request details such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, and response status. These are used for security, abuse prevention, reliability, debugging, and basic operation.
• If you email me, I receive the information you choose to send, plus normal email metadata such as sender address, timestamps, and mail headers. I use that to reply and keep context for the conversation.
• If you use the theme toggle, the site stores a theme value in your browser's localStorage so your light or dark preference persists. This is not used for tracking and is not sent to me by the site.

Cookies and storage

This site does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking.

The only intentional browser storage is the local theme preference described above. You can remove it by changing your browser's site data settings, clearing local storage for this site, or using a private browsing session.

Why the data is used

Server logs are used for the legitimate interests of keeping the site secure, available, and working correctly.

Email data is used for the legitimate interests of responding to messages, handling professional enquiries, and keeping a reasonable record of correspondence.

The theme preference is used only to remember the display choice you made on this device.

Sharing and processors

The site is delivered through hosting and network infrastructure providers, and email is handled through email service providers. Those provider categories may process limited technical or email data to provide, secure, and troubleshoot their services.

I do not sell personal data and do not use this site to build advertising profiles.

Retention

Browser theme storage remains on your device until you change it or clear it.

Email correspondence is kept while it remains useful for the conversation, professional context, or ordinary administrative records.

Server and network logs are kept only for as long as the relevant provider makes them available for operational, security, abuse-prevention, and debugging needs. I do not use those logs to profile visitors.

International transfers

Some hosting, network, or email providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens, I rely on the provider's published transfer safeguards and contractual arrangements.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data. To make a request, email hello@ziyad.co.uk.

If you are unhappy with how a privacy request is handled, you can contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

This personal site is separate from Masterful CV. Product-specific notices, privacy information, and user-facing terms are shown on the Masterful CV product surface where applicable. When using Masterful CV, visitors should rely on those product notices rather than this personal-site privacy page.
